Android Pie for Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Now Available in More Countries

Samsung started the Android Pie rollout for the Galaxy Note 9 earlier this month in Germany, and now it looks like the new OS version becomes available for more devices across the world.

While the availability of the Pie update expands at a slower than anticipated pace, at least for eager users who really can’t wait any longer to install the latest Android on their devices, Samsung is currently working on rolling it out to more devices as soon as possible.

And the latest countries to get Android Pie on the Note 9 are Kuwait and the UAE, with several users confirming the update is available now OTA.

Samsung hasn’t provided any specifics on its planned rollout for the new Android version, but a notification that the company posted in December in the Samsung Members app indicated that the first devices would get it on January 15.

Clearly, the launch started earlier than anticipated, though it’s expected that by the end of this month, the majority of the Note 9 units would receive the update.

One important thing to do know is that the Android Pie update come with the January 1 security patch level, so Samsung no longer plans to release a security update separately. This means the company expects to release Pie to most devices as fast as possible, thus making sure that the Note 9, regardless of the country, is also running the latest security patch level.

Needless to say, the excitement over this update is huge, but it’s still not broadly available for users across the world. I can’t confirm the rollout hasn’t yet started in countries like the UK, France, Italy, Spain, or other European states, and there’s a good chance those in the States would have to wait even a bit longer.

In the meantime, there are also manual ways to force the update to Pie on the Note 9, but if you’re a beginner, I just recommend you to wait until it becomes available OTA.
